In a major milestone for India’s agricultural exports, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has facilitated the country’s first-ever sea shipment of botanical-infused ready-to-cook millet functional foods to New Zealand. The consignment was flagged off on June 3, 2026, marking a significant step in promoting value-added millet products in international markets.
The export consignment, weighing one metric tonne, was dispatched by Bengaluru-based M/s Infini Agrotek LLP. The shipment consists of innovative millet-based functional foods enriched with botanical ingredients, reflecting the increasing global preference for nutritious, sustainable, and health-focused food products. The development highlights the growing recognition of India’s traditional grains and their transformation into premium-value products for international consumers.
The achievement underscores the expanding opportunities for Indian exporters in the global health and wellness food segment. The shipment was virtually flagged off by APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev, IAS, who congratulated the company on this landmark achievement.
