The second day of Bharat Innovates 2026 witnessed strong engagement among global investors, industry leaders, researchers, policymakers, startups and academic institutions, reinforcing India’s growing stature as a global hub for DeepTech innovation. The summit focused on fostering technology partnerships, accelerating innovation and creating pathways for the commercialization of cutting-edge technologies.

Bharat Innovates 2026, an initiative of the Government of India implemented by the Ministry of Education, serves as an international platform connecting India’s rapidly expanding innovation ecosystem with global investors, industry experts, research networks and international markets.

The day began with an Innovation Showcase that featured advanced technologies developed by Indian startups and leading higher education institutions. The exhibition highlighted innovations across key sectors including biotechnology, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, energy, mobility, space technology and artificial intelligence. The showcase provided participants with an opportunity to explore emerging technologies with strong commercial and societal impact.

Delivering the keynote address, Jalaj Dani, Co-Promoter of Asian Paints Limited and a prominent angel investor, emphasized the importance of aligning scientific research with market needs. He stressed that innovation can achieve meaningful impact only when supported by strong industrial partnerships, sustainable business models and long-term institution-building efforts.

A series of high-level panel discussions brought together experts from across the globe to deliberate on the future of innovation and technology-led growth. The discussions featured distinguished speakers including Prof. Chetan Chitnis from Institut Pasteur, Aurélie Girou, CEO of Safran Reosc, Bertrand Denis of Thales Alenia Space, Frédéric Parisot, CEO of GIFAS, Yoko Fukata of Sony Innovation Fund and Suneel Bakhshi of Mizuho Financial Group.

The panels explored topics such as bio-innovation, advanced manufacturing, space technologies, defence supply chains and global investment opportunities. Speakers highlighted the need for patient capital, stronger international collaborations and mechanisms that can help transform research breakthroughs into commercially scalable solutions.

One of the major highlights of the day was the extensive investor-startup engagement programme. More than 80 DeepTech startups showcased their innovations before panels comprising over 50 global investors representing more than 10 countries. The startups participated in six thematic pitch sessions covering Space and Defence, Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductors, Healthcare and MedTech, Biotechnology and AgriTech, Energy and Climate Technologies, and Advanced Manufacturing.

These sessions facilitated direct interaction between entrepreneurs and leading venture capital firms, corporate investors and international funding agencies. The platform enabled startups to present their technologies, discuss growth strategies and explore funding opportunities with global stakeholders.

The investor interest generated during the event was significant. More than 40 startups received confirmed follow-up commitments from investors, indicating strong confidence in India’s innovation-driven enterprises. The summit also built upon the momentum generated on the opening day, during which investment activity worth nearly USD 30 million was announced.

According to organizers, the cumulative impact of the summit has been substantial. By the end of Day Two, Bharat Innovates 2026 had facilitated more than 1,350 business-to-business meetings involving innovators, resulted in over 50 collaboration agreements and enabled extensive networking between startups, investors and industry leaders. In addition, approximately USD 254.5 million in funding commitments and advanced-stage investments involving participating innovators were announced during the event.

The summit has emerged as a powerful platform for fostering cross-border partnerships and strengthening innovation ecosystems. Through focused engagement, technology showcases and investment opportunities, Bharat Innovates 2026 has enhanced collaboration between India, Europe and other international markets while promoting innovation-led economic growth.

The final day of the summit is expected to focus on technology parks and accelerators, climate technologies, industrial decarbonisation, global scaling strategies and long-term institutional partnerships aimed at sustaining the momentum generated during the event.

With growing participation from global stakeholders and increasing investment commitments, Bharat Innovates 2026 continues to position India at the forefront of the global DeepTech landscape.
