अंतराल के बाद का खेल –

अंतराल के तुरंत बाद मैट कुह्नमैन ने भारत को 88/8 पर कम करने के लिए अश्विन को हटा दिया। कुह्नमैन ने रोहित शर्मा (12) और शुभमन गिल (21) के रूप में दो शुरुआती झटके दिए। इसके बाद ल्योन पार्टी में शामिल हो गए और चेतेश्वर पुजारा को 1 रन पर क्लीन बोल्ड कर दिया। भारत ने रवींद्र जडेजा को 4 रन पर आउट कर दिया, जबकि श्रेयस अय्यर अपना खाता खोलने में नाकाम रहे। मुकाबले में आगे बढ़ते हुए दोनों पक्षों ने कुछ बदलाव किए। गिल केएल राहुल की जगह लेंगे, जबकि मोहम्मद शमी को आराम दिया गया है और उमेश यादव उनकी जगह लेंगे। वहीं ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने स्टार ऑलराउंडर कैमरून ग्रीन और मिचेल स्टार्क को अपनी प्लेइंग इलेवन में उतारा है.
