Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal has called for stronger economic engagement between India and Estonia, urging businesses from both countries to work together in trade, investment, technology and innovation. Speaking at the India–Estonia Business Forum in Tallinn during his official visit to Estonia, the Minister highlighted the vast opportunities created by India’s economic expansion and invited Estonian enterprises to become active partners in the country’s growth journey.
The Business Forum brought together senior government officials, business leaders, industry representatives and trade delegations from India and Estonia to discuss ways of expanding bilateral economic cooperation and identifying new areas for collaboration.

Delivering the inaugural address, Shri Piyush Goyal outlined India’s economic transformation over the past two decades, describing the country as one of the fastest-growing major economies in the world. He said sustained reforms, a rapidly expanding manufacturing sector, a thriving start-up ecosystem and growing innovation capabilities have created a strong foundation for international investment and business partnerships.
The Minister noted that India offers significant opportunities for global companies looking to diversify supply chains, invest in advanced manufacturing and participate in one of the world’s largest consumer markets. He stressed that India’s policy reforms and improving business environment continue to make the country an attractive destination for investors.
Forum Highlights Estonia’s Digital Strengths
The event began with welcome remarks by Estonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Margus Tsahkna, who welcomed the participating delegations and underlined the importance of strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
Senior Estonian government officials showcased Estonia’s globally recognised digital governance model, innovation-driven economy and business-friendly environment. Presentations highlighted the country’s achievements in digital public services, technology-led growth and entrepreneurship, offering insights into areas where India and Estonia could collaborate more closely.
Representatives from Indian industry also shared perspectives on India’s evolving economic landscape, its growing investment potential and the expanding opportunities available for foreign businesses across multiple sectors.
