Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal and Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov visited the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (NICDC) pavilion at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on the second day of INNOPROM India 2026. Their visit followed a bilateral meeting and formed part of their tour of the industrial exhibition.
During the visit, the two ministers interacted with the NICDC team and reviewed several initiatives designed to strengthen India’s manufacturing and industrial infrastructure. Officials highlighted the organisation’s work under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP), Industrial Smart Cities, PM MITRA Parks and the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojna (BHAVYA).
The NICDC team also showcased the Industrial Corridor Land Platform (ICLP) and digital logistics services developed by NICDC Logistics Data Services Limited (NLDSL). These initiatives are aimed at improving industrial connectivity, facilitating investment and creating an efficient ecosystem for manufacturing companies.
Focus on India-Russia Manufacturing Partnership
The interaction between Indian and Russian representatives highlighted significant opportunities for cooperation in manufacturing, industrial technology, localisation and investment. The discussions reflected growing interest in strengthening commercial and industrial linkages between businesses from the two countries.
The NICDC pavilion attracted a wide range of domestic and international visitors, including investors, industry leaders, technology companies and business delegations. Delegates expressed interest in industrial locations across India, infrastructure availability, connectivity, serviced land and opportunities to establish or expand manufacturing facilities.
NICDC CEO and Managing Director Rajat Kumar Saini, IAS, also visited the pavilion and reviewed the investor engagement and outreach activities being conducted during the exhibition.
B2B Meetings Explore Investment Opportunities
As part of its participation in INNOPROM India 2026, NICDC conducted several business-to-business meetings with Russian representatives, BRICS delegates, potential investors and industry stakeholders. The discussions focused on manufacturing partnerships, localisation of production, technology cooperation and integration of supply chains.
The meetings covered a diverse range of sectors, including advanced engineering, machinery and equipment, automobiles, transport systems, metals, energy, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and advanced manufacturing technologies.
Participants also explored possibilities for closer collaboration between Indian and Russian companies. Potential partnerships involving manufacturers, technology providers and supply-chain companies were discussed, with particular attention to emerging industrial hubs in India.
Industrial Smart Cities Highlighted
NICDC emphasised the role of India’s Industrial Smart Cities in supporting global companies looking to establish or expand manufacturing operations in the country. These locations offer serviced industrial land, modern infrastructure, multimodal connectivity and investor facilitation services intended to make setting up industrial units more efficient.
The discussions also examined how such industrial ecosystems could help international companies integrate into Indian supply chains while supporting domestic manufacturing capabilities.
The strong response to the NICDC pavilion on the second day of the exhibition indicated sustained international interest in India’s industrial development programme and its growing potential as a global manufacturing destination.
INNOPROM Strengthens Bilateral Industrial Engagement
The first edition of INNOPROM being hosted in India has provided a platform for government representatives, businesses and investors from India and Russia to engage directly on industrial and technological cooperation. The exhibition has enabled stakeholders to identify areas for investment, technology partnerships and greater integration of manufacturing supply chains.
NICDC is scheduled to continue its investor meetings and B2B interactions on the concluding day of INNOPROM India 2026 on September 11. The organisation will focus on advancing discussions initiated during the exhibition and translating potential collaborations into future industrial opportunities.
Through these engagements, NICDC is contributing to the government’s broader efforts to expand domestic manufacturing, attract international investment and develop globally competitive industrial ecosystems in line with the objectives of Make in India and Viksit Bharat @2047.
