Mahakaleshwar Jyotirling Katha: महाकालेश्वर ज्योतिर्लिंग भगवान शिव के 12 ज्योतिर्लिंगों में से एक है। आज का दिन उज्जैन के महाकालेश्वर ज्योतिर्लिंग मंदिर के लिए विशेष है। क्योंकि आज भव्य महाकाल लोक कॉरिडोर का लोकार्पण होने जा रहा है। जो भगवान शिव की महिमा उनके अवतारों और उनसे जुड़ी महत्वपूर्ण बातों के लिए समर्पित है। आज इस अवसर पर हम जानते हैं कि महाकालेश्वर ज्योतिर्लिंग की उत्पत्ति कैसे हुई और इसकी पौराणिक कथा के बारे में….

भगवान शिव काल से परे हैं, वे आदि है, वह अनंत है। वह महाकाल है लोगों को अकाल मृत्यु का भय रहता है। उनको महाकालेश्वर ज्योतिर्लिंग का दर्शन अवश्य करना चाहिए। महाकाल की कृपा से अकाल मृत्यु को भी टाला जा सकता है। जिस पर महाकाल की कृपा होती है। उनका काल कुछ भी नहीं बिगाड़ पाता है। महाकालेश्वर ज्योतिर्लिंग की पौराणिक कथा का वर्णन शिवपुराण में मिलता है।

Mahakaleshwar Jyotirling Katha: महाकालेश्वर ज्योतिर्लिंग की पौराणिक कथा

शिव पुराण के अनुसार उज्जैन में चंद्रसेन नाम का एक राजा शासन किया करता था। जो शिव का सच्चा भक्त था। भगवान शिव के गणों में से एक मणिभद्र से उसकी मित्रता थी। एक दिन मणिभद्र ने राजा को एक अमूल्य चिंतामणि प्रदान की। जिसको धारण करने से चंद्रसेन का प्रभुत्व बढ़ने लगा और यश कीर्ति दूर-दूर तक फैलने लगी।

इसे देखकर दूसरे राज्य के राजाओं में भी उस मणि को पाने की लालसा जाग उठी। कुछ राजाओं ने चंद्रसेन पर हमला कर दिया। राजा चंद्रसेन वहां से भागकर महाकाल की शरण में गया और उनकी तपस्या में लीन हो गया। कुछ समय बाद वहां पर एक विधवा गोपी अपने 5 साल के बेटे के साथ पहुंची। बालक राजा उनको शिव भक्ति में लीन देखकर प्रेरित हुआ और वह भी शिवलिंग की पूजा करने लगा।

बालक शिव अराधना में इतना लीन हो गया कि उसे मां की आवाज सुनाई नहीं दे रही थी। उसकी मां उसे भोजन के लिए बार-बार आवाज लगा रही थी। बालक के न आने पर गुस्साई माँ बालक के पास गई और पीटने लगी। शिव पूजा की सामग्री भी फेंक दी। बालक मां के इस व्यवहार से काफी दुखी हुआ।

तभी वहां अचानक से एक चमत्कार हुआ। भगवान शिव की कृपा से वहां पर एक सुंदर मंदिर निर्मित हो गया। जिसमें दिव्य शिवलिंग भी था और उस पर बालक द्वारा अर्पित की गई पूजा सामग्री भी थी। इस तरह से वहां पर महाकालेश्वर ज्योतिर्लिंग की उत्पत्ति हुई। इस घटना से उस बालक की मां को काफी आश्चर्यचकित कर के रख दिया।

जब राजा चंद्रसेन को इस बारे में पता चला तो वह महाकाल ज्योतिर्लिंग के दर्शन करने पहुंच गया। जो राजा चंद्रसेन पर मणि के लिए आक्रमण कर रहे थे वह भी महाकाल की शरण में आ गए। इस घटना के बाद से ही महाकाल उज्जैन में निवास करने लगे।
