The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) organised a special programme on August 13, 2026, as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026, reinforcing the message of patriotism, national unity and respect for the National Flag.

The Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign is being observed from August 9 to 17 this year. The initiative encourages citizens to proudly display the Tiranga at their homes and workplaces and strengthen their personal connection with the National Flag. The 2026 campaign also carries special significance as it coincides with the 150th anniversary of India’s National Song, “Vande Mataram.”

Ministry Encourages Wider Participation

During the programme, the Secretary of the Ministry of MSME distributed the National Flag among officers and officials and urged them to participate actively in the campaign. Attached, subordinate and field offices of the Ministry were also encouraged to organise similar activities at their respective workplaces.

The programme focused on the broader objectives of the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative, including encouraging citizens to express their pride in the nation and promoting a shared sense of national identity. Officials were also sensitised to the importance of displaying the National Flag with dignity and adhering to the appropriate respect associated with the Tiranga.

The celebrations provided an opportunity for the Ministry’s officers and staff to come together in the spirit of national unity and public participation.

Vande Mataram Anniversary Marked

A key feature of the programme was the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of “Vande Mataram.” Officers and staff collectively sang the National Song, marking the historic milestone and recalling its enduring role in India’s national consciousness.

The occasion highlighted the connection between the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and the wider values of unity, patriotism and collective participation. The singing of “Vande Mataram” further added a commemorative dimension to the celebrations.

Har Ghar Tiranga as a Jan Bhagidari Movement

The Government of India launched the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in 2022 under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The initiative was conceived to encourage people to hoist the National Flag at their homes and develop a stronger personal bond with the Tiranga.

Since its launch, the campaign has expanded into a nationwide Jan Bhagidari movement. The participation of citizens, institutions and government offices has helped establish the campaign as an expression of national pride and collective identity.

The 2026 edition continues this emphasis by encouraging people to display the National Flag at homes and workplaces during the campaign period.

‘Selfie with Tiranga’ Initiative

As part of the celebrations, officers and staff of the MSME Ministry were also encouraged to participate in the “Selfie with Tiranga” initiative. Participants can upload their photographs with the National Flag on the official Har Ghar Tiranga platform, helping extend the campaign’s reach through public participation.

The initiative seeks to provide citizens with another avenue to express their connection with the Tiranga while contributing to the collective visibility of the campaign.

The MSME Ministry’s programme reaffirmed its commitment to the values underpinning Har Ghar Tiranga—patriotism, unity, public participation and respect for the National Flag. The observance also served as a reminder of the enduring significance of “Vande Mataram” as the country marks 150 years of the National Song.
