Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates during the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela, stressing that India’s youth are driving the nation’s journey towards becoming a developed country by 2047.
Addressing the newly appointed recruits through video conferencing, the Prime Minister said the Rozgar Mela reflects the government’s commitment to creating employment opportunities and empowering young people across multiple sectors.
He stated that the youth of India are playing a major role in accelerating the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” and noted that the new recruits would contribute significantly in key sectors such as railways, banking, defence, healthcare and education.
Congratulating the candidates and their families, PM Modi described the occasion as a major milestone in the lives of thousands of young people entering public service. He said every achievement is strengthened by the support of families, society and the nation.
Referring to his recently concluded five-nation foreign tour, the Prime Minister said global leaders and major companies had expressed confidence in India’s young talent and technological progress.
“The world is excited about India’s youth and technological advancements. Today, countries across the globe want to partner with India in its growth journey,” he said.
Highlighting the outcomes of the tour, PM Modi said India had strengthened partnerships with several nations in sectors including advanced technology, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, green energy and sustainable manufacturing.
He specifically mentioned the agreement between Dutch semiconductor equipment company ASML and Tata Electronics, calling it a significant boost for India’s semiconductor ecosystem.
According to the Prime Minister, the ASML-Tata Electronics partnership alone is expected to create thousands of employment opportunities in the country and further strengthen India’s position as a reliable global supply chain partner.
He also highlighted collaborations with Sweden in artificial intelligence and digital innovation, partnerships with the United Arab Emirates in supercomputing and energy, and cooperation with Norway and Italy in maritime infrastructure, green transition and sustainable technology.
PM Modi said sectors such as clean energy, green hydrogen, critical minerals and sustainable manufacturing are expanding rapidly and creating new employment opportunities in the emerging global economy.
Speaking about India’s industrial growth, he said the country is building a complete semiconductor supply chain and that ten major semiconductor units are expected to strengthen India’s presence in the global market.
The Prime Minister also highlighted investments worth nearly Rs 75,000 crore in shipbuilding, ship repair and aviation maintenance ecosystems, which are expected to create opportunities for engineers, technicians and skilled workers.
Discussing the impact of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, PM Modi said India has emerged as a major electronics manufacturing hub, with the electronics value chain increasingly being developed within the country, leading to large-scale employment generation.
He further noted that investments in roads, railways, airports, logistics and digital infrastructure are transforming rural India by improving connectivity and opening new opportunities for farmers, traders and students.
Emphasising innovation and entrepreneurship, the Prime Minister said India has become the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem with more than 2.3 lakh recognised startups. He added that young entrepreneurs from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, along with women beneficiaries of schemes such as PM Mudra Yojana and PM SVANidhi, are making significant contributions to economic growth.
Addressing the recruits directly, PM Modi urged them to treat public service as an opportunity to serve the nation and asked them to strengthen public trust through empathy, efficiency and continuous learning.
“Viksit Bharat will be built through the efforts of youth who see their work as service to the nation,” the Prime Minister said.
