The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will host its Combined Convocation 2026 in New Delhi on 31 August 2026, with President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu attending the ceremony as the Chief Guest. As the official Visitor of NIFT, the President will join graduating students from 18 NIFT campuses as they mark the completion of their academic journey.
The ceremony is expected to be a significant occasion for the graduating students, bringing together young talent from across the country to celebrate their academic accomplishments, creative achievements and contributions during their years at the institute.
Union Textiles Minister to Attend Ceremony
Union Minister for Textiles Shri Giriraj Singh will also grace the convocation. The event will be attended by distinguished dignitaries, members of the NIFT Board of Governors, senior government officials, faculty members, scholars and graduating students.
The ceremony will provide an opportunity to recognize students who have demonstrated exceptional performance across various academic programmes. Outstanding students from each programme and campus, achieving the highest cumulative grade point average (CGPA), will be honoured with gold medals in recognition of their academic excellence.
Degrees to Be Distributed Through Campus Ceremonies
Following the central convocation, NIFT will conduct campus-wise Degree Distribution Ceremonies. These ceremonies will formally confer degrees upon graduating students and mark their transition from academic education to professional careers.
