An exclusive exhibition-cum-sale titled ‘Designer Atelier’ is bringing together India’s traditional textile heritage, skilled craftsmanship and modern design at the Central Cottage Industries Emporium in New Delhi. The event, being organised from September 12 to October 1, 2026, offers visitors an opportunity to explore a wide range of handloom and handcrafted creations that reflect the country’s diverse cultural traditions.
The exhibition is being held at Jawahar Vyapar Bhawan, Janpath, and will remain open to visitors from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM throughout the event period. It has been organised with the objective of giving greater visibility to India’s authentic handloom traditions while connecting traditional craftsmanship with contemporary fashion preferences.
The ‘Designer Atelier’ was jointly inaugurated by Shri Akhilesh Kumar, Deputy Director General (Textiles), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India and Chairman of the Central Cottage Industries Corporation (CCIC), along with Shri Bimal Gopalachari, Managing Director, CCIC. Senior officials and other dignitaries were also present during the inauguration.
Promoting India’s Handloom Heritage
The exhibition seeks to strengthen awareness and appreciation of India’s rich textile legacy by encouraging consumers to choose genuine handloom and handwoven products.
