अक्षदीप सिंह एक साधारण किसान का बेटा हैं.आपको बता दे उनके परिवार ने काफी संघर्ष किया हैं.उन्होंने बताया 20 किलोमीटर वॉक का रिकॉर्ड एक घंटा 16 मिनट का था.हरियाणा में इन्होंने रिकॉर्ड भी बनाया था.अपनी कहानी की शुरुवात करते हुए उन्होंने कहा की वे पहले अपने घर के पास सड़क पर ही दौड़ते थे.लेकिन फिर वे बरनाला स्टेडियम में दौड़ना शुरू किये.पंजाब में ही उन्हें कोच मिले.उसके बाद बंगलुरु में उन्होंने इसकी काफी प्रैक्टिस की.अक्षदीप सिंह ने एशियाई गेम्स और वर्ल्ड चैंपियनशिप के लिए भी क्वालिफ़ाई किया.
परिवार वालो ने दिया साथ –
आर्थिक स्थिति कमजोर होने के बावजूद अक्षदीप ने कभी अपने आत्म विश्वास को नहीं खोया.सिर्फ इतना ही नहीं उनके जूते अक्सर 6 महीनों में फट जाया करते थे.वे बताते हैं की उनके सामने काफी चुनौतीपूर्ण वक़्त आए लेकिन उन्होंने कभी हर नहीं मानी.वे हमेशा अपने काम को ज्यादा महत्व देते थे.शायद इसी जूनून ने उन्हें बहुत अच्छा बनाया और इतनी तरक्की दी.वे मार्च में भारत की तरफ से पेरिस ओलंपिक्स के लिए जा रहे हैं.इधर पंजाब सरकार ने भी अक्षदीप को आर्थिक मदद दी हैं.
