ट्रस्ट सोसाइटी, सर गंगा राम अस्पताल के अध्यक्ष डीएस राणा ने कहा, “बुखार के कारण गांधी को चेस्ट मेडिसिन विभाग के वरिष्ठ सलाहकार अरूप बसु और उनकी टीम की देखरेख में अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया है।”वह इस साल पहले ही दो बार अस्पताल में भर्ती हो चुकी हैं। सोनिया गांधी का जनवरी में दिल्ली के एक अस्पताल में वायरल सांस संबंधी बीमारी का इलाज हुआ था।वह अभी रायपुर में कांग्रेस की 85वीं महाधिवेशन से लौटी हैं। गांधी ने समारोह के दौरान अपनी राजनीतिक सेवानिवृत्ति का संदर्भ दिया और अपनी खुशी व्यक्त की कि उनकी “पारी भारत जोड़ी यात्रा के साथ समाप्त हो सकती है।”

सोनिया को अस्पताल से मिल गयी छुट्टी –

सर गंगा राम अस्पताल के अध्यक्ष (प्रबंधन बोर्ड) डॉ. अजय स्वरूप ने कहा, “यूपीए अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी को 10 जनवरी को दोपहर तीन बजे स्थिर और संतोषजनक स्थिति में अस्पताल से छुट्टी दे दी गई।”पूर्व कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष ने पार्टी के 85वें पूर्ण अधिवेशन के लिए छत्तीसगढ़ के नया रायपुर में अपना अंतिम सार्वजनिक प्रदर्शन किया।

बैठक के पहले दिन, कांग्रेस संचालन समिति ने कार्यसमिति, पार्टी के शीर्ष निकाय के लिए चुनाव न कराने का फैसला किया और मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे को अपने सदस्यों को मनोनीत करने की अनुमति दी।सोनिया गांधी ने एक के बाद एक चुनावी हार, सुधार के लिए वर्षों की आंतरिक लड़ाई और नेताओं के पलायन के बाद अक्टूबर में एक समर्पित समर्थक खड़गे को 137 साल पुराने संगठन का नियंत्रण सौंप दिया। पार्टी के संस्थापक परिवार माने जाने वाले गांधी परिवार की इस पर मजबूत पकड़ है।
