Samsung has officially confirmed the launch of its new Galaxy M47 5G smartphone in India on June 29, further strengthening its popular Galaxy M-series lineup. The upcoming device is aimed at young consumers who prioritize performance, battery endurance, durability, and long-term software support in their smartphones.
The Galaxy M47 5G arrives with a combination of upgraded hardware and software features that position it as a strong contender in the mid-range smartphone segment. Samsung has focused on delivering a balanced experience for gaming, entertainment, photography, and everyday multitasking.
At the heart of the smartphone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, manufactured using an advanced 4nm process. The chipset is paired with LPDDR5X RAM, which is designed to provide faster data transfer speeds and improved energy efficiency. Samsung says this combination will enable smoother multitasking, faster app launches, and enhanced overall performance while keeping power consumption under control.
The smartphone features a large 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The high refresh rate is expected to deliver fluid scrolling, responsive gaming, and an improved viewing experience while streaming videos or browsing content. Samsung’s AMOLED display technology is also known for offering vibrant colors, deep blacks, and excellent contrast levels.
Battery performance is another key highlight of the Galaxy M47 5G. The device is equipped with a substantial 6,000mAh battery, which is expected to provide extended usage on a single charge. To complement the large battery, Samsung has included support for 45W fast charging, allowing users to quickly recharge the device when needed.
One of the standout additions is the bypass charging feature. This functionality enables the phone to draw power directly from the charger during gaming sessions instead of continuously charging the battery. As a result, heat generation is reduced, helping maintain stable performance and minimizing thermal throttling during extended gameplay.
Samsung has also focused on durability. The Galaxy M47 5G comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection, offering enhanced resistance against scratches and accidental drops. This makes the device better suited for users seeking additional protection in everyday use.
In the camera department, the smartphone is equipped with a triple rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). The OIS technology helps improve image clarity and reduces blur, particularly in low-light conditions and while capturing videos. On the front, the device features a 12-megapixel HDR selfie camera designed to deliver improved portrait shots and video calls.
The Galaxy M47 5G supports 4K video recording and includes Samsung’s Nightography technology, which enhances low-light photography and videography. These features are expected to appeal to content creators and social media users who frequently capture photos and videos in varying lighting conditions.
On the software front, the smartphone will ship with One UI 8.5 based on Android 16. Samsung has also announced an extensive software support policy, committing to six generations of Android operating system upgrades and six years of security updates. This move significantly extends the device’s lifecycle and ensures users continue receiving new features and security enhancements for years.
Additional features include Samsung Wallet with Tap & Pay functionality, Circle to Search, Google Gemini integration, and on-device voicemail support. Security has also received attention with Samsung Knox Vault and Auto Blocker, which help safeguard sensitive user data from malware and hardware-based threats.
The Galaxy M47 5G will be available in two color options—Rogue Red and Blaze Blue. While Samsung has revealed most of the device’s specifications ahead of launch, pricing details are yet to be announced. More information is expected during the official launch event on June 29.
