Himachal News: 27 फरबरी से 4 मार्च तक चल रही खेलों यूनिवर्सटी प्रतियोगता मे चंबा के विरेन् सिंह ने डिस्कस थ्रो और शॉट पुट में गोल्ड मेडल जीत कर बनाया रिकॉर्ड वीरेन यूनिवर्सिटी के पहले खिलाड़ी बन गए हैं। जिन्होंने एक साथ दो गोल्ड मेडल हासिल किए है। आज तक किसी भी खिलाड़ी ने यूनिवर्सटी से दो गोल्ड मेडल एक साथ नहीं जीते है। उनके प्रदर्शन को देखते हुए उनका नाम यूनिवर्स्टी खेलों गेम्स की बुक मे दर्ज़ किया जायेगा।
यह जानकारी जिला चंबा पैरा स्पोर्ट्स एसोसिएशन के संस्थापक व महासचिव अजय कुमार ने दी। उन्होंने बताया कि इस प्रतियोगिता मे देश भर से आई 10 से ज्यादा यूनिवर्सटी के खिलाड़ियों ने भाग लिया था।
खिलाड़ी वीरेंद्र सिंह का शानदार प्रदर्शन रहा
जिसमे जिला पैरा स्पोर्ट्स के खिलाड़ी वीरेंद्र सिंह का शानदार प्रदर्शन रहा। अब वह राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर अपनी प्रतिभा का लोहा मनवाएंगे।एक साथ दो गोल्ड मेडल लाने पर लवली प्रोफेशनल यूनिवर्सिटी के प्रधानाचार्य ने इतनी बड़ी जीत की खुशी में विरेन् सिंह को यूनिवर्सटी खेलों का समन्वयक नियुक्त किया है। वीरेन सिंह अभी यूनिवर्सिटी से B.Ed की पढ़ाई कर रहे हैं।
उनका कहना है कि।
जिन्दगी एक खेल है,
यह आप पर निर्भर है
कि आप खिलाड़ी बनना
चाहते हैं या खिलौना….!!!
वीरेन सिंह ने कहा की 2017 में मुझे 11 हजार केवी करंट लग गया था। और में स्पाइन कोड इंजरी का शिकार हो गए था। लेकिन उसके बावजूद भी मैंने हिम्मत नहीं हारी और परिवार के कोच के सहयोग से आगे बढ़ता गया और मैं पिछले साल पैरा स्पोर्ट्स में नेशनल भी खेल चुका हूं और अभी यूनिवर्सिटी से पढ़ाई के साथ साथ खेल भी रहा हूं। लेकिन मैंने जिंदगी में कभी हार नहीं मानी।
जिला चंबा में खुशी का माहौल
वीरेन सिंह जिला चंबा के रठियार गांव के रहने वाले हैं। वीरेन के दो मेडल आने पर जिला चंबा में खुशी का माहौल है। जिला पैरा स्पोर्ट्स के अध्यक्ष संजय अत्रि ने वीरेंद्र सिंह को शुभकामनाएं दी और ऐसे ही शानदार प्रदर्शन करते रहने के लिए प्रेरित भी किया। अत्रि ने कहा कि ये चंबा के लिए बहुत बड़े गर्व की बात हैं।
