The Technology Development Board (TDB), under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, has entered into an agreement with Delhi-based One2X Tech Pvt. Ltd. to support the commercialisation of Fixit, an indigenously developed Agentic AI platform. The initiative aligns with the government’s broader objective of strengthening India’s sovereign AI capabilities and positioning the country as a global hub for artificial intelligence innovation.
The project focuses on taking enterprise AI beyond conventional assistance and towards systems capable of independently carrying out complex business activities. With TDB’s support, One2X Tech will work to enhance Fixit’s AI orchestration, enterprise integrations, security architecture and scalability, enabling the technology to move closer to widespread commercial deployment.
Moving AI from Assistance to Action
Agentic AI is emerging as a new phase in the evolution of artificial intelligence. Unlike traditional AI tools that primarily help users generate content, analyse information or find answers, agentic systems are designed to understand a goal, determine the actions required and interact with connected software and systems to achieve an intended outcome.
Fixit incorporates several technologies aimed at enabling this capability, including multi-agent orchestration, contextual memory, AI reasoning, reinforcement learning and real-time decision-making. Its architecture allows specialised AI agents to access relevant information, select appropriate actions, interact with enterprise applications and monitor the results.
The platform also includes security guardrails, observability mechanisms and human oversight. These features are intended to support controlled, transparent and auditable use of AI in business environments.
Focus on Revenue Operations
One2X Tech is initially targeting revenue operations, where Fixit can deploy specialised AI agents across multiple stages of the customer lifecycle. These include market intelligence, customer engagement, lead qualification, nurturing, follow-ups, appointment scheduling, sales handovers and revenue attribution.
The platform aims to move beyond simply documenting customer activity. Instead, its agents are designed to determine what action should follow and execute it, creating a continuous cycle connecting customer interactions, AI-driven decisions and business results.
The real estate sector is among the company’s initial focus areas. The sector involves lengthy purchasing cycles, repeated customer interactions and high-value transactions, making it suitable for AI systems capable of maintaining continuous engagement and coordinating multiple activities.
Potential for MSMEs and Smaller Businesses
Although the initial commercial focus is on real estate and revenue operations, the underlying technology has applications across sectors where businesses depend on complex, multi-stage workflows.
The project also advances the concept of an “AI workforce”, in which specialised AI agents could handle repetitive execution, monitoring, analysis and coordination. Human employees, meanwhile, could concentrate on activities requiring creativity, strategic thinking, judgement, relationships and entrepreneurship.
Such capabilities could be particularly significant for startups, MSMEs and smaller enterprises that may not have the resources to maintain large operational teams or sophisticated technology infrastructure.
TDB Highlights Indigenous AI Potential
TDB Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Pathak said India’s AI journey needs to progress from adoption towards the development and commercialisation of indigenous technologies. He described Agentic AI as an important technological evolution with the potential to reshape enterprise operations and scalability.
He said TDB’s support would help an Indian startup take a home-grown Agentic AI platform to the market while contributing to the country’s wider objective of developing globally competitive and self-reliant AI capabilities.
The Founder and CEO of One2X Tech said the company believes Agentic AI could enable businesses to access capabilities that currently require entire teams. The company’s long-term vision is to allow even small businesses to develop their own AI workforce and operate with capabilities traditionally associated with much larger organisations.
The collaboration between TDB and One2X Tech marks another step towards translating India’s indigenous AI research and innovation into commercially viable solutions, while strengthening the country’s emerging enterprise AI ecosystem.
