Kanya Pujan: 26 सितंबर से शारदीय नवरात्रि की शुरुआत हो चुकी है. 3 अक्टूबर को महा अष्टमी और 4 अक्टूबर को महानवमी और 5 अक्टूबर का दशहरे का उत्सव मनाया जाएगा. नवरात्रि के दौरान कन्या पूजन का विशेष महत्व होता है. कुछ लोग नवरात्रि शुरू होते ही कन्या पूजन कराने लगते हैं

5 वर्ष की कन्या रोहिणी कहलाती है. इसका पूजन व्यक्ति को रोग से मुक्ति दिलाता है.
6 वर्ष की कन्या मां कालिका का स्वरूप मानी जाती है. जो विद्या विजय और राजयोग दिलाती है.
7 वर्ष की कन्या को चंडिका का स्वरूप माना गया है. चंडिका का पूजन करने से ऐश्वर्य की प्राप्ति होती है.
8 वर्ष की कन्या शांभवी कहलाती है. इस के पूजन से वाद-विवाद से मुक्ति मिलती है.
9 वर्ष की कन्या साक्षात दुर्गा का स्वरूप कहलाती है. जिसका पूजन करने से शत्रु का नाश होता है और सभी कार्य सफल होते हैं.
10 वर्ष की कन्या सुभद्रा का रूप मानी जाती है और माता सुभद्रा अपने भक्तों की सभी इच्छाए पूर्ण करती है।
