WPL 2023 GG vs MI : महिला प्रीमियर लीग (WPL) का पहला मैच गुजरात जाइंट्स और मुंबई इंडियंस के बीच खेला गया। डीवाई पाटिल स्टेडियम में खेले गए इस मैच में मुंबई ने गुजरात को 143 रन से हराया। मुंबई ने पहले बैटिंग करते हुए 207 रन बनाए थे। जवाब में पूरी गुजरात टीम 15.1 गेंद पर 64 रन पर सिमट गई।

गौरतलब हो कि गुजरात ने टॉस जीतकर पहले गेंदबाजी करने का फैसला किया। मुंबई की टीम ने पहले बल्लेबाजी करते हुए कप्तान हरमनप्रीत कौर के शानदार 65 रन की बदौलत 20 ओवर में 5 विकेट पर 207 रन बनाए। गुजरात की टीम को जीत के लिए 208 रन का लक्ष्य मिला है। कप्तान हरमनप्रीत के अलावा हेली मैथ्यूज ने 47 रन, एमिलिया कर ने नाबाद 45 रन की पारी खेली थी। गुजरात की तरफ से स्नेह राणा ने दो विकेट हासिल किए थे।

लक्ष्य का पीछा करने उतरी गुजरात की शुरुआत बेहद खराब रही। बिना खाता खोले कप्तान बेथ मूनी रिटायर्ड हर्ट हो गईं। इसके बाद 1 रन के स्कोर पर हरलीन देओल के रूप में टीम को दूसरा झटका लगा। तीन के स्कोर पर एशली गार्डनर भी पवेलियन लौट गईं। तीनों बल्लेबाज अपना खाता तक नहीं खोल पाई थीं। पांच रन के स्कोर पर एस मेघना भी आउट हो गईं। गुजरात ने 23 के स्कोर पर अपने 7 विकेट खो दिए थे।
